BUS del BUSON
Imagine walking somewhere where it feels like time has stopped. A long time ago, there was a fast-flowing stream under a huge glacier. Today, that stream is no longer there, but it has left behind a wonderful gift: the Bus del Buson, a narrow and mysterious gorge that looks like something out of an adventure book!
As you walk along the path, you might start to see something special among the trees. Suddenly, you see a different world: tall rock walls that seem to touch the sky, and a narrow natural passage so narrow that in some places you could almost touch both sides with your arms outstretched. You have arrived at Bus del Buson, and your children have just stepped into an adventure they'll never forget.
As you wander through the gorge, the light changes constantly, creating a magical atmosphere. In some places, where the walls close in until there is barely enough room for one person to pass, the air becomes cool and the atmosphere almost magical. Ask the children to place their hands on the rock – it's so smooth! The water has flowed through this narrow passage for centuries, and it's really polished the rock.
After about two hundred metres of this fascinating route, the gorge suddenly opens up onto a beautiful clearing, which is just the place for a rest. It's the perfect place to take a break, to observe the layers of rock that tell their long history, or simply to listen to the special silence of this place. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of some of the wild animals that live there, as they come out to say hello.
You know, when you take the kids to Bus del Buson, you're not just feeding their curiosity; you're gifting them a magical blend of joy and learning. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see how water and time can shape the mountains – it's as easy as watching a child's eyes light up when they discover something new and amazing! And best of all, they will return home with a spring in their step and a newfound curiosity about the world.
CADINI del BRENTON
Get ready to be enchanted by one of the most magical places in the Belluno Dolomites National Park! The Cadini del Brenton are a true masterpiece of nature, where water has carved the rock to create incredible round pools that look like something out of a fairy tale – isn't nature amazing?!
This trail is absolutely perfect for families because it offers a simple but exciting experience, right in the heart of nature. You can walk for 20 minutes on lovely wooden walkways and get up close to the famous 'giants' potholes'. These are rock cavities that water has taken its time to shape. Your little ones are going to absolutely love watching the whirlpools! And they'll have so much fun looking for traces of forest animals, too.
The name 'Brenton' comes from the local dialect and means 'bubbling', just like the water you will see flowing rapidly between the rocks. As you walk along the path, you'll feel like you're travelling back in time, to a time when nature was still shaping these mountains.
If you're planning a trip to the Cadini del Brenton, I would absolutely recommend visiting from May to October. That's when the trails are fully accessible and nature is at its most lush and beautiful. On sunny days, the water is an amazing green colour that will leave you speechless.
